Hello, darling. I’m Grace. It’s nice to meet you.
I suppose I don’t know how to describe “About Me.” I can’t say I’m a professional anything, because I mostly do as I please. I suppose I can tell you my height, weight, origin, and educational background, but that’s really got nothing to do with it.
I suppose I can say that I believe in a wonderful life.
I believe in love, confidence, hope, and energy.
I fight cynicism every day of my life.
Personally, I love antiquated words, Christmas lights, and peanut butter. I worship George Eliot. I’m absolutely obsessed Modcloth and all things floral, and I spent four straight years drawing nothing but cats wearing sunglasses (#onlyalittleweird). I like tea and very thick sweaters, and I can make a mean white chocolate cheesecake.
I lived a normal life for a while, but it was an ambivalent experience and I don’t necessarily recommend it. After hauling myself through university and graduating with absolutely no feelings of remorse, I was thrust unceremoniously into the real world, and it took all of eight minutes to realize that I was not going to follow any set path. I was going to make my own, for better or for worse.
I decided to untether myself from familiarity, from school and work and all the normal things that tie us to our little spheres of life, so that I could wander the globe with my keyboard and my camera, seeing what life is really about. This blog started in that little sphere of seedling adulthood: six months of wandering on my own, discovering who I am and what I want and how to get it.
It’s more than that, though. Now, this blog isn’t just about travel photos and hiking. It’s not about my cookbook or my cat (as beautiful as she is). It’s about life as we live it—all of us, this splintered human race—and how that universe is filtered through these silly little things we call our Selves.
So here I am, writing for you, my fellow humans: the journey of a young writer moving through the whirlwind world.
I am on a quest to empower and comfort every young soul who reads my words. I champion self-love, self-discovery, and exploration. I believe in beauty and I will never stop fighting for hope, harmony, and resilient faith in oneself.
To find out more about me and my mission, here I am.
